Tuscan's Grille

Tuscan's Grille
1760 Rt. 9, Clifton Park

I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner out at a new Clifton Park Restaurant called Tuscan's Grill. It is located on Route 9. Tuscan's just opened this past July. We were there on a Tuesday night, not typically a busy night for restaurants, and the place was hopping. Word gets around about a good thing.

Tuscan's is beautifully decorated and, as the name implies, reminiscent of Tuscany. As you walk in, you are greeted by terracotta colored walls and floor tiles and two lovely pictures of Tuscany. The bar area is very attractive, with arches on either side of the walls. There are also arches going into the main dining area with stunning al fresco scenes of Tuscany along the walls. All the dining rooms are beautifully done with attention paid to every detail-from black iron light fixtures, terra cotta wall sconces, to a working fireplace in one of the dining rooms. It is very obvious that great care and planning went into the design and dcor of Tuscan's Grill.

Our dining experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. Our service was outstanding as was our food. We started with calamari fritta. They were excellent-fresh and very light. We then had a salad and roasted eggplant red pepper bisque. You should know that your entre comes with a homemade salad or soup of your choice which change daily. Both were delicious. For our entrees we had linguini pescatore and the fettucini roma. Both dishes were a hit. The fettucini roma consisted of ribbon noodles, fresh mushrooms, sweet peas, grated romano cheese, sweet butter and cream topped with strips of grilled chicken. It was, in a word, scrumptious, a delightful blend of flavors and with a creamy sauce that was just right. I would highly recommend this dish. My dinner companion equally enjoyed his lingini pescatore, a pasta dish with fresh clams, lobster, and jumbo shrimp in a Tuscan marinara sauce. The seafood was straight from the ocean and the sauce a delight. Everything was so delicious that I had to try the dessert. I have to tell you, this job is getting dangerous. But I am happy to report that the tiramisu was worth every calorie. We topped it all off with fresh decaf cappuccino.

It is very easy to see why Tuscan's Grill has become an overnight success-great food and service, wonderful atmosphere and moderate prices. If you haven't dined at Tuscan's Grill you are missing out.
