I recently enjoyed lunch at Yono's restaurant located at the New Hampton Inn on the corner of Chapel Street in Albany. Yono's has an elegant 19th century look with mahogany woodwork and plush leather seating.
After being seated, our waitress suggested that we try their DP hamburger, which was made with ground Kobe beef layered with shaved truffles, Hudson Valley foie gras, Kobe bacon and tomato concasse frisse. The burger was named after the owner's son, Dominic Purnomo, who is also Yono's maitre d'sommelier. It was succulent and had an incredible mix of flavors.
My guest had the Maryland Crab Cakes with citrus mayo as an appetizer and lobster ravioli with a champagne cream sauce for an entre. The crab cakes had a light breading and the citrus mayo was a perfect compliment to the cake's zesty flavor. The lobster ravioli was made with homemade dough and completely stuffed with meat. The cream sauce was delightful.
Yono's was a wonderful dining experience featuring gourmet cuisine that has an Indonesian flair. If you want high quality fair that is a little out of the ordinary, you simply must give it a try.
