Brindisi's Restaurant & Bar
390 Broadway
Saratoga Springs, NY

Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant right on Broadway in Saratoga called Brindisi's.
Brindisi's has a great feel to it. Burgundy walls with black trim, and an eclectic collection of photos and artwork that adorn the walls. The front area of the restaurant is a bar/dining area and that is where we sat. I always love to people watch and check out the local scene. There was some great jazz/blues music playing in the background. I would have to sum up Brindisi's ambiance as one of casual sophistication.
Brindisi's menu is varied. There is truly something for everyone. They even offer a heart healthy menu for those who are strictly watching what they consume.
We started our dining experience with their Mediterranean salad and rigatoni alla vodka. The Mediterranean salad was oh so yummy! It consisted of artichokes, olives and roasted red peppers all served over field greens and drizzled with their house vinaigrette. The salad was fresh, healthy, refreshing and a total delight. The rigatoni alla vodka is normally an entre, but they were only to happy to accommodate us in ordering it as an appetizer. I'm a big fan of good vodka sauce and this one was awesome. First let me say that the rigatoni was cooked to a perfect al dente. The vodka sauce was ideal in taste and consistency. It was one of the better vodka sauces I've had in the area.
For our entrees we ordered veal Marsala and filet involtini. The veal Marsala was sauted veal medallions finished in mushroom and Marsala brown gravy and served over angel hair pasta. The veal was of the highest quality and cooked to perfection, the mushroom brown gravy was just right and the asparagus served on the side was a wonderful compliment to the dish. The filet involtini was a thinly tenderized filet mignon filled with spinach, mozzarella cheese garlic, prosciutto di parmagiano cheese served over angel hair pasta with mushroom and Marsala gravy. Doesn't it sound mouthwatering? I assure you it was. Again, the filet was of the highest quality. It was a symphony of flavors. I savored every bite. All the flavors really popped, making it a totally scrumptious experience.
Our dining experience at Brindisi's was superb from start to finish. The service was exemplary and the food was exceptional. Brindisi's is a class act, and definitely meets the criteria to be one of Lori's picks.
