I'm excited to tell you about a new restaurant that has just opened in Saratoga Springs. If you have a family or not, and want to be able to dine out and have good, high-quality food that is affordable, The Big Apple is for you.
One of the new and interesting things that The Big Apple offers is two separate dining rooms, depending on your needs. One is for families, and the other is for folks who want a more leisurely dining experience. There are even separate menus for each dining room.
Upon entering The Big Apple you are greeted by their bar area. You sense right away that the ambiance is casual, relaxed and family friendly. There are dining rooms to the right and left sides of the entry. The dining rooms are pleasant and very comparable. Both have fireplaces, soft yellow and pine walls, and Tiffany style lights.
The real story about The Big Apple is their incredible food, large portions and reasonable prices. I started my meal with a crock of French onion soup and my companion began with the bruscetta. My onion soup was wonderful. It was loaded with a combination of melted mozzarella, provolone and parmesan cheeses. The bruscetta was so fresh and tasty, with garden tomatoes, olives, artichokes, and red onions that were all marinated in aged balsamic vinegar and oils and served on parmesan crostini. We both thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers. For our lunch we ordered the turkey club and the house lasagna. My turkey club proved to be a great choice. The sandwich was huge. I jokingly commented that it could feed a family of four. The turkey breast was excellent, piled high with bacon, lettuce and tomato, and was served on homemade whole wheat bread. The fries were yummy, and not a bit greasy. The lasagna could also feed a family of four. Again, from the sauce to the pasta and filling, it was delicious. Neither of us could finish our meals, and we both have very healthy appetites. The dessert menu looked awesome with gourmet carrot cake, tiramisu, turtle chocolate mousse cake, mini cannoli, and the list goes on. We decided that we'd better refrain, after all we ate for lunch, but it was very tempting.
I highly recommend The Big Apple. The food is impressive and the portions are enormous. Our service was fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. Once you try The Big Apple, you'll go back again and again.
